The Town also offers a range of entertainment opportunities and services which, coupled with many other services and facilities, make Carleton Place an exciting place in which to live and visit!
Almonte
Almonte is a peaceful and attractive community of some 4,400 people, located about 50 kilometres from Canada's capital, Ottawa.
Once a thriving textiles centre — known in its heyday as "North America's Manchester" — Almonte is now primarily a commuter town, with the majority of our citizens working in the city.
Mississippi Mills
Like the river, a strong current of community runs through the town, villages, hamlets and rural areas of the Town of Mississippi Mills. To provide maximum service with minimum cost, the Townships of Pakenham and Ramsay and the Town of Almonte amalgamated in 1998 to form the new Town of Mississippi Mills.
Just a 20 minute drive from high-tech Kanata (35 minutes from downtown Ottawa) you can find what you are looking for in Mississippi Mills. Here are some maps to show you how easy it is to connect to our unique location.
